The Harbor at Tower Hill is a state certified secured Alzheimer’s unit committed to quality of life, personal dignity, and the safety and independence of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
As a state certified special care unit for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, The Harbor must meet regulations specific to dementia care established by the Illinois Department of Public Health. This includes meeting regulatory requirements for areas such as annual staff training in dementia care, unit staffing levels and activity programming. Located on the south wing of Tower Hill’s second floor, The Harbor is a secured unit with its own dining and activity rooms. The environment and special activity program offered by The Harbor provides the structure and support necessary to meet the special needs of persons with dementia.
“It is with great pleasure, I find my self writing to express total satisfaction with Tower Hill’s staff, nurses, and aids. Their efforts to provide the kind of skilled care my husband needs for his Alzheimers/Dementia diagnosis is exemplary. Despite my husband’s memory loss, their emphasis is on the dignity of the patient; which is so important to me. I highly recommend Tower Hill to anyone considering placement for their loved one with this type of need. Consider Tower Hill not only for the loved one, but for peace of mind as the caregiver.” —Cherrie E.
